White Elephant Game Rules

Gift Budget: $20–$25 (bring one wrapped, unmarked gift).

Turn Order: Participants draw random numbers to determine play order.

First Turn: Player 1 opens a gift from the pile for everyone to see.

Subsequent Turns: Future players can choose to unwrap a new gift or steal an already opened one.

If Stolen From: Select a new gift to unwrap or steal an eligible opened gift from another player.

Steal Limit: A gift can only be stolen 3 times before it becomes “frozen” with its holder.

Player 1 Swap: After everyone has played, Player 1 gets one final opportunity to swap their gift with any unfrozen opened gift.
